Bacon and doodle and eggs and balls

Arun and Kaajal got me a special present for my 30th (although exactly how much of a hand Kaajal had in the choosing can probably be debated). Anyway. What can I say, sometimes pictures just speak louder than words. Here it is.

Thanks guys - you really know how to make a guy feel special. Bacon and eggs will never again have the same meaning.

Soo wrong yet soo right? The KPIE and the Pie Pie

The genius of this idea astounds me: http://piepie.richarddingwall.name I'd vote for the person behind this for the president of the world.

I'd eat them. Both of them. Maybe even both at once. With my hands. And I wouldn't even bother washing them. Mmmmmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm. That is so totally completely and utterly food-pornographically O for awesome with special sprinkles on top.

P.s. thanks Sir George for pointing this food-engineering feat out to us. And, BOY-O-BOY, am I looking forward to eating the one you cook for us back in NZ! Yeah yeah yeah!

The dragonfly flits in the Yorkshire afternoon

The throng of cars dissipate and the pace of life slows down. Someone smiles, is this still London? Snow, chilly feet, ice covered canals. Breath hovering in the air, warmth slowly seeping out. Warm it up Chris. A brisk walk along the East London canals; just what the doctor ordered.

September – and I see the urban fisher‑folk
dreaming of salmon leaping in roaring rivers.
Sunday in Sheffield – and I walk by the canal.
The high himalayas drum with roaring rivers.
The dragonfly flits in the Yorkshire afternoon
while Mandakini descends in roaring waters.
Once a laughing goddess roamed along these banks;
now unknown, her name resounds through roaring waters.
Ducks swim, ruffling their feathers over this landscape.
Yards away, industry storms its roaring waters.
Whatever she is called, Ganga meditates
On summer rippling the calm of English rivers.

It's a white Christmas!

Matt, Inga, Anita, Dave and Silvia, far too much food, lots of lovely bubbles and booze, snow, presents and good company, what more could you ask for?

Trees up, getting blue

Christmas stuff check:

  • Expensive real Christmas tree - check
  • Pine smell in a bottle to put on the expensive real Christmas tree because it doesn't smell real - check
  • Little flashing blue lights to make your eyes spazz out in the dark - check
  • Awesome home-made origami stars to put on top of the tree - check (omega star - how to make 'em here lotsa fun!)
  • Assorted general home-made origami stuff like rabbits and cranes to stick on the tree - check (thanks Captain Caterpillar Lip for teaching us these ones!)
  • 2 hand stitched tree decorations - check (Inga is lazy it's not her fault)
  • Random assortment of stuff that someone once put on a tree so now they sell it in bulk to pretards so they can put it on their tree and wonder why they're putting random krap on their tree - check

In the dark blue sky you keep,
And often through my curtains peep,
For you never shut your eye,
Till the sun is in the sky.

It's almost Christmas time!

Pretty quiet thirtieth birthday for Matt with some pretty silly work commitments and other stuff going on. Good to see everyone and catch up though...
