London tourists and Spain

Matt's job doesn't start for another couple of weeks, and there is no sign of employment for Inga thanks to Gordon Brown taking over as PM. So we are doing the responsible thing and going to Cadiz, Spain to visit Nick for 6 days.

We've just had Matt's mum and dad stay with us for four days and it must have given us back the taste for being tourists.

We went to the Borough markets and spent up large on cheeses, breads, salami and other nibbles, then we walked the Regent canals sampling beer and ciders along the way. And as if that wasn't enough we were taken out for some yummy Vietnamese (a late celebration for Inga's
birthday).

We spent an entire day at the Tower of London exploring the various castles, barracks and fortifications - they sure love to tell you about all the torture and executions despite the fact that the tower is almost 1000 years old and the executions only occurred for a few hundred of those.

Then we spent the next day walking the south bank of the Thames from Vauxhall (yummy Portuguese custard tarts), past Westminster, through a huge exhibition of Salvidor Dali etchings and sculptures, and past the Globe Theatre back to the Borough markets. All helped along with a
few beers and ciders and finished off with some good ol' British pub nosh.

We really got spoilt - with Edgar enjoying the role of millionaire tourist. And probably walked further in the weekend than we have in the whole time we have been in London.

(Any photos will have to come c/o Yvonne and Edgar - hint, hint)

Here's a pikky of our back garden - gonna crank that barbie up soon... whoop whoop...

Awesome guys, sounds like you had some fun and maybe sore legs. Glad that Yvonne and Edgar got to come and visit. Also great to hear they are spending some of the fortune on treating themselves.
