GERMANY - Füssen, cycle around lake Forggensee
With legs still grieving from yesterday's mountainous descent it was time to get out and find the true essence of the Bayerische weideland.
We had good intentions of accompanying our Bromptons on their first Deutsch expedition and showing them the glorious sights and sounds of the Bavarian countryside... but after a rather annoying Brompton travel-box purchase failure, we ended up leaving them at home (the box and bike ended up weighing 20.3 kgs - a couple of sandwiches too heavy for air travel, grrrr!).
Instead we hired some bikes and off we cycled on a 32km round trip around lake Forggensee, and across the flowing viridian hills of the Bavarian highlands. Apart from some complaining appendages and a bit of a chill wind, it was a really lovely tour and we only just made it back before the rain started.
Time to trip the light fantastic back to London. Holiday over.
